Women and IRF: Why Their Concerns are Overlooked in Africa
This is a side event to the 2022 U.S.- Africa Leaders Summit hosted by President Biden for leaders from across the African continent in Washington, DC on December 13-15, 2022.
States should create a safe and enabling environment in which women and girls are able to exercise their rights to freedom of expression and freedom of thought, conscience and religion or belief. Join our distinguished panel of women as they discuss religious freedom challenges women face in Cameroon, the DRC, Nigeria and Uganda. This event is a collaboration between the International Religious Freedom Roundtable Africa Working Group and the Women’s Working Group.
